Presentation Summary:
Radiology departments currently face critical workforce shortages in radiologists, radiology technicians,
staff, and advanced practice providers. In the context of critical workforce shortages, the costs of
employee turnover have emphasized the need for radiology leaders to develop leadership behaviors that
promote the recruitment and retention of faculty and staff members. Inclusive workplaces are associated
with improved job satisfaction, reduced turnover, and increased organizational commitment. This lecture
is focused on providing attendees with discrete tools and resources to pro-actively foster inclusive
workplace environments.

Burnout is known to be a systemic problem yet many of the factors that contribute to burnout are beyond the control of the average radiologist or radiation oncologist. Simple lifestyle habits can increase an individual’s resilience which is known to be effective at decreasing burnout.
